This site is written and funded by me, Sarah McCartney.
I am a writer and marketing strategist. My strategy is to teach marketing to nice people so that they will use their skills for good and not for evil.
Most of the time I write for Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, a privately owned company that does some pretty good stuff for the environment, run by the people who set and continue to lead the standards for non-animal testing in the cosmetic industry. (Also for reducing packaging, preservatives, warehousing and transport by making fresh and solid cosmetics and cutting energy use by using humans not machines to make them.)
If you’d like to read more stuff I’ve written (free) you can download an e-book ‘Auntie Pamela’s Guide to Life: how to solve your problems with warm baths and long walks’. Get it from lushie.com, the lovely Marietta Pacella’s Lush fan site. It’s at: http://www.lushie.com/auntiepamela.html
I’ve also written a slightly subversive business book, The Fake Factor, about why we buy branded goods without thinking and why we should stop it. The Goddess Guide says: “Love these books*. You wouldn’t want to buy a fake after reading these two great books. I stayed up nights reading these in bed. (Yes, I do have a life.)”
You can find it on Amazon for £6.59 or better still, borrow it from the library.
In Japanese it’s called Nisei Brand: ISBN 4478502714.
*The other book is Tim Phillips’ Knockoff which you can buy with mine as a special deal on Amazon.
